Iman yang Sukar Focus

Saya rasa anak saya Iman ada masalah susah nak focus...bukan focus in term of sight, tp mind...dia mudah distracted pd ape2 saja yg ada di sekeliling dia...(termasuklah adik dia yg suke mengacau, ishh!!)...lately makin kuat firasat saya mengatakan yang Iman mmg susah nak focus...

Saya ajar dia baca Iqra'...ejaan yang dia paling ingat adalah BA...secondly TA, confused sikit dgn THA, tp paling lupa ngan AA (peliknya...rase nak tgk ape yang dia nampak pada buku Iqra' dia). Lame2 Ummi mula naik geram. & kepala Ummi asyik duk buat comparision antara mase Ummi kecik dulu belajar mengaji dgn Iman sekarang. Aisyyy...susahnya budak Iman ni nak mengingat. Risau pulak bila Iman dah masuk sekolah nanti. Ade masalah ke Iman ni?

Bila main, x pernah leka dgn satu2 permainan. Main ni sekejap tinggal, main yang lain pulak. Main game kat computer sekejap dah stop, main yang lain pulak (tp main game computer ade improvement drp dulu...dah cekap sikit...tp nak compare ngan cousin dia Haziq mase sebaya Iman, mmg jauh panggang dr api...Haziq otak game, tip top). Dlm usia 3 thn lebih ni Iman baru pandai main susun2 kereta. Dulu x pernah pon main mcm tu. Main asyik nak menjahanamkan mainan ada laa...

Semalam, saya tgh sidai kain kat bawah. Mintak tolong Iman ambikkan hset saya kat atas sofa. Mase giving instruction to him, mmg dia mengadap muka Ummi dia ni haa...tp bila dia masuk dalam umah, sibuk cari hset dlm hbag Ummi kat dlm bilik. Padahal, bila masuk umah je, terus jumpa sofa. Ada dalam 3 kali Ummi kene repeat instruction tu. Information ada masuk ke otak Iman ke x? ke Iman ade masalah pendengaran. Rase x de pulak. Ummi dah laa cepat naik angin. Ishh...normal ke gitu?

Saya mula rase risau, kadang2 bila mintak tolong buat ape2, lambatnya Iman nak b'gerak. Tu saya agak sbb berat badan yang agak bum-bum kot. Takut Iman susah nak focus bila Iman dah start belajar kat sekolah nanti. So saya pon Google laa pasal isu budak2 yang susah nak focus ni kan...so jumpe laa ni...
Uols boleh baca sendiri ye...

Salah 1 part drp website tu mmg kene dgn masalah Iman ni...

Inattentive signs and symptoms of ADD/ADHD

Symptoms of inattention in children:

  • Doesn’t pay attention to details or makes careless mistakes
  • Has trouble staying focused; is easily distracted
  • Appears not to listen when spoken to
  • Has difficulty remembering things and following instructions
  • Has trouble staying organized, planning ahead, and finishing projects
  • Frequently loses or misplaces homework, books, toys, or other items
Children with ADD/ADHD can pay attention when they’re doing things they enjoy or hearing about topics they enjoy. But when the task is repetitive or boring, they quickly tune out.
Not paying close enough attention is another common problem. Children with ADD/ADHD often bounce from task to task without completing any of them, or skip necessary steps in procedures. Organizing their schoolwork and their time is harder for them than it is for most children. Kids with ADD/ADHD also have trouble concentrating if there are things going on around them; they usually need a calm, quiet environment in order to sustain attention.

Harap2 Iman bukan lah penghidap ADHD ni...Ummi harap bila Iman dah masuk sekolah, Iman akan belajar utk stay focus to each of your lesson...Ummi risau laa...Ummi nak anak2 Ummi mudah belajar mcm budak2 lain yang bijak2 tu...

Uols rasa ape yang patut saya buat utk Iman ni? Sape2 yang ade pengalaman, ade ilmu, boleh laa share ngan saya...

10 Ways to Wean Your Child Off the Pacifier

Is your child attached to his pacifier? Yes, my daughter...How do you get rid of the pacifier, especially during bedtimes? Still have no idea what to do...

Weaning your baby or toddler off the pacifier may not be as easy as it seems. A child who is so attached to his pacifier will rant and rave for it, for hours. Here are some tips and tricks to help your child get over the pacifier.

Cold Turkey
Going cold turkey may sound very ruthless. You have to expect a lot of crying if you decide to use this strategy. Parents will have to stay strong and true to their decision of not giving the pacifier. You must not give in! Give the child a few days to about two weeks to adjust without them.(a few days to about two weeks, what??!!!...I can't stand of Aisyah's crying not even a minute...)

Dip In Coffee
Make the pacifier undesirable. My parents tried this on me when I was young. They made a cup of strong, black coffee and dipped my pacifier in it. They left the dark-tinged pacifier for me to find. When I put it in my mouth, I spit it out immediately because of the strong taste. Apparently I did not want it anymore. They tried it on my sister but coffee did not work, so they used some other stronger stuff so that my sister would reject her pacifier. Try out something bitter but harmless to the child.
(my mom ask me to put getah langsat on the top of aisyah's pacifier. I would try it, i hope it not harmless to her)

Feed a Muffin After Milk
I tried this method on my daughter. Since we often give milk to her before her nap and going to bed at night, we decided to change the routine a bit. We gave her a small muffin or biscuits to eat after her milk. The act of chewing is similar to the sucking of the pacifier, making her drowsy. Make sure you brush her teeth as soon as she gets drowsy and ready for bed.

Cut the Pacifier
This method seems to work miraculously for some parents. Cut a tiny piece off the end of the pacifier and tell your child that it doesn’t work anymore. They may not want it anymore after discovering that it is “spoilt”. Some children may be comforted with the pacifier physically in the mouth, but not having to suck them. For these kids, gradually cut more tiny pieces off the pacifier until there is nothing left for them to hold in the mouth.A variation of the above method would be to poke a tiny hole at the end of the pacifier. Having pacifiers that does not work anymore may frustrate the kids and soon they will let it go.
(I have think of this so many times when my mind come to dead-end)

Prepare The Child For The Big Day
Choose a big day such as their birthday to prepare your child to give up the pacifier. Some parents tell their children that their pacifiers will not work anymore after their 3rd birthday. Then they use strategy #4 above on the night of their birthday. It may work as it is a special day for them.
(3rd birthday??!!! I think I can't wait another year...)

Donate The Pacifier
If your child is old enough, you may want to cultivate the habit of donating baby items to other needy children. One of the items could be their pacifiers. But be sure to remove the pacifier before sending the donated items away.

Lose The Pacifier
Hide the pacifier so that the child could not find them. When they ask for it, go on a pacifier hunt to look for it. At times, you may let the child find it. But other times, you may hide it in a place he will not look such as the dustbin. Since it has gone missing, the child may give it up.
(this won't work for Aisyah, I just know it!!)

Read A Book
There is a book that is recommended for those who want to tell their children some “tale” about giving up the pacifier. It is entitled The Binky Ba-ba Fairy by Heather Knickerbocker-Silva. The fairy in the story gives the pacifiers to other babies who need them. Maybe you could read this and combine with strategy #7 above.

Trade It For a Toy
Bribery may not always work. But if you have read the book in #8 with your child, you may want to reward your child for giving his pacifier up. You may want your child to put his pacifier under the pillow and it will be replaced with a toy he always wanted the next morning.

Let The Child Give It Up
If you let the child be part of the decision, he may be more receptive to giving up his pacifier. For instance, you may help your child to decide to give up his pacifier. When he agrees, get him to throw it in the bin. When he asks for it later, remind him that he has thrown it away or make up something about the garbage man has given it away to other babies or something. Gross but it might just work!

Well, getting rid of pacifiers will not be easy. Armed with all these strategies, one of them or a creative combination of these might work for you and your child. Try them!

Look cute when give to babies, but for toddlers totally unaccepted, at least for me!

I must try one of the ways...or maybe each of it, until she get over her pacifier!!

Birthday Party Aisyah

16 Dec 2008 - Aisyah's Birthday

Birthday party Aisyah yg pertama kali disambut ni kami adakan kat rumah kakak saya, Kak Ngah. Sebab ummi dan adik2 yg masih b'cuti sekolah ada kat sana. Party yg x grand pon. Ala kadar je...Juadah cuma kek chocolat chip walnut yg kami tempah kat Resepi Rahsia (kek wajib laa kan). Pastu saya masak bihun 2 paket (sebab kaum kerabat yg agak ramai kan), pastu sate ayam ditempah di restoran Sup Urat Keting, Bangi (sedap laa drp sate Kajang Haji Samuri tu, tp sup keting dia memang best!!!).

Kami tak pernah sambut birthday Aisyah sblm ni. So, mase kami nyanyi2 lagu wajib depan kek birthday tu, Aisyah agak t'pinga-pinga. Mungkin sedikit t'kejut tgk orang nyanyi2 lagu 'birthday to you' utk dia, sampaikan suruh tiup candle pon dia xmau...huhuhuuuu...kelakar je. Mcm x fun pon ade aisyah ni, mulut muncung je, kesan isap pacifier selama 2 thn ni...hadiah, ude je yg bagi. OK laa tu drp xde kan...(sian Aisyah...xpe ummi ayah xkan miss bg present on your birthdays)

Hmm... what else...enjoy these photos laa...

Kek Rapunzel yg dah kene potong br nak snap picture. Why Rapunzel, sbb citer dia best sgt!! ummi aisyah yg minat sbnrnye...hihihiii...lupe nk bgtau, name cik wa atas kek tu adalah my 5th sis & the 7th of my 11 siblings (paham ke???)...tumpang sekaki w/pon dia xbayar pon...ehehh...saya yg nak letak sbnrnye, saje nak kasik meriah skit sbb beza umur diorg nih sehari je...ade jgk di post kat blog dia : wawa

Gambar ngan cousins...ntah2 ape2 pose aisyah...Iman nampak naughty sgt!!! sememangnya!

buruknye muka ummi...

ni lah muka aisyah mase birthday party tu...huhuhuuuu...

for this aisyah's birthday, ummi wish ummi can get rid aisyah from her pacifier...ummi must try ummi's best...because ummi thinks this is the best time for aisyah to get over it!!! chaiyokk ummi & aisyah!!!
